Remarks

adult specimens between 25-40 mm
colouration creamy with red-brown spots

easily confused with the 3 other species from the same genus:

	Serratovola rubicunda (Récluz in Chenu, 1843) ribs rounded on right (lower) valve interstices on left (upper) valve are medium, ribs medium
	Serratovola angusticostata Dijkstra, 2008 ribs angular on right (lower) valve left (upper) valve with broad interstices and small ribs found in the southwestern part of the Pacific
	Serratovola pallula Dijkstra, 1998 ribs angular on right (lower) valve left valve with narrow interstices and broad ribs only found from Papua New Guinea to northern Australia right (lower) valve is more convex compared to the 3 other species 12-16 mm in height
	Serratovola gardineri (Smith, 1903) ribs angular on right (lower) valve interstices on left valve are medium, ribs also medium only found from Maldive Isl.
